In vibrant Taiwan, healthcare services are receiving increasing attention. Professional care institutions in this city provide a diverse range of services, tailored for care recipients with different illnesses and health problems. However, with a potential shortage of 70,000 care workers in the next 3 to 5 years, care institutions are clearly under immense pressure. Against this backdrop, "smart care" institutions, with their innovative ICT hardware and software technologies, have emerged and established a smart care model, aiming to enhance institutional added value and alleviate staff burden.

Smart care, a modern concept that combines advanced technology with healthcare, is continuously shaping and transforming traditional care models. It explores and deepens the understanding of care recipients' health status and management needs by developing a service called "Monitoring Service for Healthy Life Expectancy and Average Disability Time Indicators."

Utilizing AI and Machine Learning for Health Monitoring and Analysis

1. Data Collection: First, smart care collects health data from care recipients through various means, such as wearable devices, mobile applications, or in-home sensors. This data may include physiological indicators (e.g., heart rate, blood pressure, etc.), activity data (e.g., walking distance, sleep quality, etc.), and other potential health-related information.

2. Deep Analysis: Next, AI and machine learning technologies are used to analyze this data. By learning and understanding individual health patterns and trends, AI can predict potential health risks, such as the likelihood of falls or early warnings of certain injuries or illnesses.

3. Prediction and Prevention: In addition, the model calculates and predicts the care recipient's "healthy life expectancy" and "average disability time," which can help medical and care teams more accurately prevent and plan in advance.

However, by utilizing the data collected and analyzed by smart care, staff can simultaneously monitor the condition of multiple care recipients and provide timely intervention when needed, thereby achieving a more efficient one-to-many care model.

2. Enhancing Care Capacity: Through this method, smart care not only provides more in-depth and personalized care services while reducing the burden on staff, but also successfully increases care capacity by 40%. This means that more care recipients can receive appropriate care and support with the same human resources.

While the long-term care industry is gradually becoming more commercialized and IPOs are a new trend, "smart care" has not stood still. Instead, it actively promotes parallel, vertical cross-industry integration and continuous care, integrating domestic and international capital, human resources, logistics, technology, and big data, with innovative business strategies to look towards the future. Furthermore, it expands its operational scale through mergers and knowledge transfer, focusing on the sustainable development of the institution.

Despite facing numerous challenges, such as increased costs due to the need for corporatization and meeting various establishment conditions, as well as the dilemma of "high thresholds, low profits, and high risk pressure" brought about by price controls from regulatory authorities, it can more accurately predict and understand the needs and intensity of care recipients, providing preventive and personalized care to maximize the utilization of limited care resources. This not only helps improve the quality and efficiency of care but also brings revolutionary changes to the entire long-term care industry.
